Being a Filipina traveler makes me so proud of the wonders of my home country. What make this trip extraordinary is because of the Island that is one of the best in the whole world! No exaggeration! I’ve been to different Island here in the Philippines but this one is extremely fantastic! Maybe because when you come here, you can experience everything. From deep down pristine water to electrifying over looking views, you will surely enjoy your stay in Coron. So I’d like to share my travel adventure in Coron with my friend @missbernadeth.

How to get there?
From the capital of the Philippines, Manila, you need to fly going to Puerto Princesa Palawan (which is cheaper) then you have to ride a ferry boat going to Coron or you could just go directly through Coron via Airplane (expensive but convenient). In my part, I did MNL to USU directly which is just 1hr flight. Upon landing the airport, we already have a shuttle van waiting for us going to where we will stay (check for Apartelle De Gabrielle). It was around 30mins to get to the town from the airport so we’re so lucky because me and my friend is the only person in the van so we’re very comfortable and enjoying the beautiful view from the outside.
About the Trip
My friend and I booked a package tour in Coron for 3days 2nights for 2,700/pax and here’s the inclusions.
- 3D2N stay at Apartelle De Gabrielle
- Queen Sized Bed
- Air conditioned room
- with Hot-showered bath room
- fast Wifi
- Daily breakfast
- Van transfer
- Half Day City Tour
- Island hoping tour package (with lunch)
- Tour guide fee
- Environmental fee
All in all, it’s not that expensive! you just have to provide allowance for you lunch (when you get there) and dinner and of course if you’re going to buy some souvenirs.
After we have checked in, it’s our free time to do whatever we want because the tour will start on 4pm and we arrived at 10am. So we just unpack our things and had a little tour in the apartelle then we decided to go on town and had our own tour. Our hotel is just 5 mins away from the town proper we can just walk or ride a tricycle which will cost us 8 pesos each. When we get to the town we decided to go for a walk around and take some photos.
In the afternoon, we just decided to go back in our room to eat some snacks while watching TV then take a nap for later tour. Then we woke up 3pm and get ready for out city tour via tricycle. We go to church, souvenir shops, plaza where you can see the island then stop by the tattoo shop ‘coz we decided to have henna before we go hiking to famous Mt. Tapyas.
For many times I had my henna, this one is my favorite because it’s the most beautiful I had aside from bigger size of butterfly, it’s just so cheap like 100 pesos and the tattoo artist were so very funny and friendly. Right after that, we headed to Mt. Tapyas, it is 721 steps up to the summit and the 360 view is totally worth it!
This is a very great way to exercise! You will totally enjoy going up because every steps you take when you look back, you’ll gonna see the beauty of Coron which will motivate you to move up more. And when you’re up there, just WOW! 🙂 On the other hand, going down is quite easier so the thing that will motivate you to go down faster is the next stop which is the Maquinit Hot Spring. Yes! after a tiring hike, it’s the perfect thing to do to end your day because tomorrow is another day.
The day we’ve been waiting for! Very excited for this adventure! Our call time is 8am so we get up early and get ready for today’s adventure. A van shuttle pick us up from the hotel going to the boat terminal and what’s great about this is that we’re on a group tour so we had different people to meet on this day from all over the world, although we’re not the only Filipino in the group, I could say that most of them were foreigners and it’s fun to be with other people sometimes. I actually enjoy the tour because our tour guide is funny, caring and friendly. He speaks English so that everyone could understand and he makes sure that everyone is feeling great! We have 7 Island tour on this day that means, it’s nonstop water splash! 🙂
