The queen city of the south is definitely one of the best place to visit when you’re planning a vacation here in the Philippines. There’s too much to do in this province that you’re already falling in love before you even realized.
Just a quick city tour #Bestofthebest
BASILICA MINORE DEL STO. NIñO
Whenever I travel, visiting the Church is a must so here’s a well known Church in Cebu. Built in 1565, the Basilica Minore Del Sto. Niño is the country’s oldest Roman Catholic Church. It is where the miraculous image of Santo Niño was discovered. The church is made of hard wood, mud, and nipa and a replica of the Santo Niño is on public display, while the original is kept in the parish convent.
Long story short, Magellan’s Cross is a Christian cross planted by Portuguese and Spanish explorers as ordered by Ferdinand Magellan upon arriving in Cebu on March 1521 and those people in belief says that the cross possesses miraculous powers which is why it’s so famous.
TEMPLE OF LEAH
Nothing just a perfect Instagramable shot for your feed goals. The wide plaza have dozens of Greece-inspired sculptures and statues as well as ornaments from other cultures that you’ll truly enjoy for your snaps tho it’s still under construction it’ll fill up your feed! Entrance fee is 50 pesos only.
If you are budgetarian traveler like me but instagram lover, I would recommend you to add this on your bucket list. The Taoist temple is open to the worshipers and non-worshipers alike and it’s entrance free, you just have to know the route on how to get there which is via motorcycle (the cheapest) or taxi because it is located inside the Beverly subdivision somewhere in Cebu. The temple includes a chapel, a library, a souvenir shop and a wishing well. The spacious balconies offer a scenic view of the downtown Cebu. It’s instagram worthy!
LA VIE PARISIENNE
The newest hangout place with the perfect ambiance of coziness and glamping experience at night is the La Vie Parisienne. The first French Boulangerie, pastry shop and wine library in Cebu that is truly majestic and great overview of tasty french wines and products. Yep it’s quite pricy but worthy!
Now let’s go to the wonders of nature!
I know you love to swim but this will take your level up to swim with the whale sharks here in Oslob, Cebu. Rate is 500 pesos for the locals and 800 pesos for foreigners (good for 30mins only). You will definitely enjoy this kind of perfect water activity for family and friends who loves basking under the sun deep dive into the ocean with whale sharks. The best time to go here is in the morning from 7am to 10am. The whale sharks would love to see you too! Underwater shot is quite challenging because of the big waves but truly funastic!
KAWASAN FALLS, BADIAN CEBU
Though it was my first time doing this kind of activity which is Canyoneering, I don’t like it, I really love it! And for every past activities that I’ve done, this is truly my favorite. Canyoneering is travelling in canyons using a variety of techniques that may include other outdoor activities such as walking, scrambling, climbing, jumping, abseiling, rappelling and swimming. This is the perfect activity for adrenaline junkies like me. A wondrous fun experience that is totally unforgettable.
Nature is 100% lit! It’s 4 hours of unstoppable splashy adventure with the squad so get ready on your knees! it’s a not-so-deadly-but-getting-there kind of activity from brisk walking to adrenaline cliff jumping, crawling is might as well as a choice, it’s all up to you! just remember that fear is just a feeling but you can always choose to set aside your imaginary feeling and just go with flow! Trust yourself that you can and I’m sure you will! After this exciting water activity you will laugh your a off! You wouldn’t believe you made it til then it just happened and from that time you will thank yourself and of course your friends whom in the first place encourage you to do it and to be brave enough to overcome on whatever is inside of you.
And whatever happens during your fun times, don’t forget to appreciate every moment that you had with the mother nature. Those photos are just half of the beauty in reality. I’m sure you’ll love nature even more if you witness in your own eyes the true beauty of earth!
So that’s it! Thank you for stopping by and have a happy #jourNie! 🙂
PS: There’s more! I haven’t been to Moalboal. Soon I will 🙂
